International and CBSE schools near Yelahanka and across North Bangalore, the universities nearby, and what to ask on a school visit before you choose a plot.
For most families, the decision about where to live is really a decision about where their children will learn. North Bangalore has quietly assembled one of the finest concentrations of international schools and universities in South India, and much of it sits within a short drive of the airport corridor.
This guide is written for parents weighing a move north. It covers the curricula on offer, where each school is, and what to ask when you visit. Admissions policies and programmes change, so treat it as a starting point and confirm details with each school directly.
The international schools
Harrow International School Bengaluru
The first Indian campus of Harrow School, founded in London in 1572, opened in Devanahalli in August 2023 on a 60-acre campus near the airport, in partnership with the Amity Education Group. It teaches from LKG to Grade 12, with IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10 and A Levels in the senior years; the school’s own admissions pages also list the IB Diploma as an option. Day places and weekly or full boarding are available, which makes it a natural choice for families who travel frequently.
Stonehill International School
Set on 34 acres off the airport road in Bangalore North, Stonehill offers the complete International Baccalaureate continuum: the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, as well as the Career-related Programme, for children aged 3 to 18. It accepts both day students and boarders and has long been a favourite of globally mobile families.

Canadian International School
Founded in 1996 and located at Manchenahalli in Yelahanka, Canadian International School follows Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary, then IGCSE, and offers the IB Diploma in the final two years. Day school runs from Pre-K to Grade 12, with boarding from Grade 6.
Vidyashilp Academy
One of North Bangalore’s most established names, Vidyashilp Academy moved to a new campus in Govindapura, Yelahanka, in 2022. It is affiliated to CISCE (ICSE) and to Cambridge International, including A Levels, giving families a choice of Indian and international pathways within one school.
Mallya Aditi International School
In Yelahanka New Town, Mallya Aditi offers students a choice between ICSE and IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10, and between ISC and Cambridge AICE in the senior years.
Strong CBSE options
Families preferring the CBSE curriculum are well served too. Sindhi High School in Kempapura, Hebbal, founded in 2003, and Ryan International School in Yelahanka (CBSE, established 2021) are both within easy reach of the northern suburbs. Delhi Public School also runs a campus at Sathnur off Bellary Road.

Universities on the doorstep
North Bangalore is also becoming a university district. Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, sits in Govindapura, Yelahanka. Vidyashilp University, offering degrees in engineering, design, management, liberal arts and law, has its founding campus at Bettenahalli near Devanahalli. Amity University Bengaluru is on the Devanahalli–Doddaballapur road, while REVA University, Presidency University and NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology are all in and around Yelahanka.
For families with teenagers, that means the option of a world-class undergraduate education without a move across the city, or the country.
Few corridors in India offer the IB, Cambridge, ICSE and CBSE within one short drive.
What to ask on a school visit
- Which curriculum pathways are offered at each stage, and how do students switch between them?
- What are the transport routes and the realistic morning journey time from your future home?
- What are the class sizes, and how experienced is the senior faculty?
- How does the school support university applications in India and abroad?
- For boarding: what are the weekly and full-boarding arrangements for younger children?
- What are the fees, and how have they changed over the past three years?
Villa plots close to these schools
Earthenhues Estates designed Lake Botanica with families in mind. Harrow International School is around ten minutes away, Vidyashilp University and Srishti Manipal about five, and schools within roughly three kilometres. Inside the community, children have cycling and jogging tracks, a kids’ play area, sports courts, a library café at the Club Commune and more than half the land given to gardens and native forest.
It is the kind of place where the school run is short and the afternoons are long. If you would like to see it, and the schools around it, we would be happy to plan your visit.
School details are drawn from each institution’s published information as of October 2026. Curricula, fees and admissions change; please confirm directly with the schools.
